Jacqueline started her musical career at age 9, singing on Radio Station KDKA in Pittsburgh, PA. She went on to perform at The Pittsburgh Playhouse, and attended Duquesne University on a scholoraship performing with the Duquesne Tamburitzens - a touring group that performed music of Eastern European countries. In 1961, Jackie was recruited by the U.S. Air Force to be the featured vocalist with the "Airmen of Note," the Air Force premier jazz band and successor to the Glenn Miller Orchestra. She was the first woman to be assigned full-time to the Air Force musical program. Jacqueline has performed at the Wolf Trap Jazz festival, Blues Alley and various other jazz venues in the Washington, D.C. area. Since coming to Georgia, she has performed at jazz festivals with big bands and jazz combos in Highland, N.C., Atlanta and the North Georgia area including the Tocca Symphony Orchestra. |
